Yourfuture duties andresponsibilities
This an excellent opportunity to join one of our largest andlongest running Space, Defence and Intelligence projects. Thisexciting role requires an experienced senior developer to: Develop,test and deploy agreed fixes/changes/enhancements using definedstandards; Investigate and diagnose issues; lead improvements; leadthe development team (currently 5 people) which includes mentoringand coaching more junior members; working effectively with otherteam leaders and the projects design authority. You must be able toget up to speed quickly with several complex problem domains anddeliver high quality work packages to challenging timescales. Therole offers an ideal opportunity to gain experience in leading ateam and some design authority expertise. The role covers the wholedevelopment lifecycle taking features from concept through totesting. Experience is required in developing quality software tocommercial standards. Excellent team working and communicationskills are essential. The requirements, technologies and theproblems we will be solving can change at short notice. We needdevelopers who are pragmatic, delivery focused, who can adapt assituations evolve, who enjoy new experiences and always want tolearn new things. Updating project documentation is an importantpart of the role which must be performed to the projects qualitystandards. This is a balanced role with working from home (hybridworking).
Key Tasks:
Lead adevelopment team to deliver new capability to the project, refreshexisting functionality whilst supporting the existingsystem.
Produce and update documentation to a definedstandard.
Design, code, and unit test assigned workpackages.
Support User Acceptance Testing and otherassurance activities.
Support the live system asrequired.
Plan and manage work packages.
Requiredqualifications to be successful in thisrole
C++ development experience on Windows.
ExcellentCommunication skills areessential
Desirable:
Team leadingexperience.
Previous experience with SatelliteCommunications or Space projects.
Designexperience.
SQL development.
Understandingunderlying infrastructure of development environments and deliveredsystems.
