    Morgan King are delighted to be partnered with a market leading manufacturing organisation who are looking to appoint a project engineer to join their busy manufacturing team.

    Job Purpose To manage and deliver engineering capital projects, from the conceptual design through the commissioning and start-up phases, safely on time and within budget.

    Responsible for supporting small, medium, and large-scale engineering projects in a safe and timely manner, ensuring that all work carried out meets the requirements of the business and complies with relevant legislation in force at the time.

    To deliver commissioning plans agreed with the Engineering Project Manager on time and on budget. To deliver plant improvements agreed with manufacturing and the site management team achieving agreed improvement targets.

    To be the site coordinator for continuous improvement activities, working closely with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams to deliver safe and cost-effective improvements to enhance manufacturing capacity and improve plant reliability and performance.

    Developing business cases for business improvements to present to senior management for appraisal.

    Responsibilities Promote site safety at all times and lead by example Identify improvements and opportunities on site and basic business case for review Deputise for the Project Manager where required.

    Implement the organisations Project Management Methodology for the assigned capital projects Prepare project documentation including scope statements, cost and time estimates, project execution plans and any other documentation within the organisations project management standard work process Work with EUK engineers, provide support and involve them in the project when required Reduce aspects of risk associated with the project scopes from initial studies and assessment tools PHA, LOPA etc Participate in PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) studies as required Implement defined project scopes for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Produce data sheets and documentation for the projects, develop and maintain health and safety files to comply with CDM Provide internal progress/status reports; including financial tracking of projects, progress against milestones to ensure on time and on budget completion Liaise with site construction supervisors and support project construction work on site.

    Handover completed projects to internal customer (manufacturing/operations), including commissioning documentation, training ect Manage commissioning phases of projects ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget Produce, track project snagging lists to completion and provision of report.

    For major and minor projects and for improvement, provide technical support to plant and operations as requested Provide liaison for setting of technical standards within the organisation where applicable.

    Promote site safety at all times and lead by example.

    Essential * Degree or equivalent in chemical engineering with a minimum of 5 years job related experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

    * Ideally working towards engineering chartership * Proven Project Engineering and Management skills * Experience of commissioning of new plant and equipment * Proven people management skills within a manufacturing or engineering organisation.

    * Excellent understanding of the English Language, both verbal and written. * Good technical writing skills with ability to file and retrieve information. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills e.g.

    ability to communicate clearly and effectively * Excellent PC skills, including MS Office software * Data driven and self-starter * Ability to quickly troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex problems * Able to work on multiple tasks/projects efficiently and effectively.

    Take a hands-on approach when required * Must be willing to work outside of "normal" working hours should the job require it.

    Desirable * Experience of operating within chemical manufacturing industry or similar hazardous environment * PMP certified * Knowledge of Chemical Process Engineering fundamentals * Knowledge of process automation principles (DCS) and process controls and instrumentation very appreciated * Practical knowledge of FAT and SAT is appreciated * Process Safety Management specific knowledge * Full working knowledge and experience of Health & Safety and legal requirements for the safe operation of a top-tier COMAH site is appreciated * Very good understanding of chemical engineering and piping deliverables (PFD, P&ID, line lists, instrument lists, etc #J-18808-Ljbffr
