Main Purpose and Scope of Job


The Purchasing & Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for procuring goods and services in line with customer and business requirements minimising costs while focusing on value, sustainability, and availability.

Key roles and responsibilities will involve working closely with the Engineering department to ensure materials are sourced and available in a timely manner to ensure customer expectations are fulfilled, sourcing metals and other materials, quote evaluation, negotiation, purchase order maintenance, liaising with Suppliers, managing subcontract requirements, expediting, and invoice queries are all key aspects of the role.


Statement of Accountabilities

  • Building and maintaining positive, long-term relationships with Suppliers.
  • Research new suppliers and make recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Obtaining quotes for materials requested by the Engineering department In line with customer RFQ.
  • Evaluate quotes and negotiate prices and delivery where necessary.
  • Raise Purchase Orders, Call Off orders and maintain in ERP system.
  • Expediting of orders to ensure specified dates are met and the correct items and quantities are received. Communicating any risks with key stakeholders.
  • Updating and maintaining internal databases and ERP system with records of orders, deliveries, invoices, and contracts. Be integral in the development and further integration of ERP systems.
  • Identify quality standards and ensure all products meet the required standards.
  • Monitor Inventory - including stock take planning and participation.
  • Resolve order and payment problems
  • Understand market and analyse trends.
  • Drive cost savings with suppliers
  • Drive continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Maintain Approved Supplier List in line with procedure.
  • Support creation of standard purchasing procedures and work flows.
  • Maintain waste management licenses / documents.
  • Provide administrative support to other departments when required.

Qualifications/Experience
- knowledge of MRP systems

  • PC Literate
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of similar Purchasing / Supply Chain Role.
  • CIPS Level 3 (Desirable)

Salary:
Up to £28,000.00 per year
