    The role:

    Technical Support Engineer - Workshops

    Fleet Support Facility is a dynamic operational facility, providing specialist Workshop Engineering Support to the BA Operation and 3rd Party Customers. Your role would be to act as the focal point of contact for the team, coordinate and manage technical solutions, utilising your own Part 21G Engineering approvals, while also working with OEMs, such as Boeing and/or Airbus, to obtain and define technical solutions outside of normal workscope/maintenance data.

    You will work with both the management and production team to ensure day-to-day compliance activities are up to date and supporting workshop activities to ensure the team remain Compliant to perform their duties within scope of approvals/authorisations. You need to be an experienced and confident engineer, a flexible team player, able to multitask, lead by example and possess excellent Leadership qualities, to enable you to technically lead and influence an established experienced team within the section.

    This is an exciting time for Aircraft Workshop Services, which is undergoing massive changes as we head into a new era of Maintenance activities utilising new technologies along with traditional proven methodologies.     What you'll do:

  • Provide front line technical support to the Workshop Technicians to support the required quality and delivery standards by solving technical and production issues.
  • Liaising with OEMs and other technical authorities (internal and external) to investigate and develop cost effective repair schemes for aircraft components.
  • Prepares and authorise workshop stage sheets and manufacturing sheets to the approved technical standards.
  • Identify, specify, procure and introduce into use all special tools and relevant test equipment necessary to carry out production work and, where necessary, compile appropriate test and calibration procedures.
  • Champion high quality standards, monitor trends, and coordinate continuous improvement in order to define and implement permanent solutions.
  • Support incident and accident management iaw company procedures.
  • Engage with and manage internal and external key stakeholders and customer relationships.
  • Capture and analyse technical data, ensuring performance targets are achieved against operational measures.
  • Support the development of a high-performance team and culture, in line with the company Hallmarks.

  • Your experience:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in an Aerospace Engineering subject (Essential)
  • Recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
    • Ability to hold BX Stamp to conduct Competency Assessments (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of Airworthiness Requirements with a good understanding of those requirements relating to component documentation (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of maintenance programmes, component reliability and condition monitoring tools & processes (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of company processes and procedures (Essential)
  • Sound knowledge of EASA Part M, Part 145 & Part 21 (Essential)
  • Supplier management experience (desirable)
