    Would you like to work for a global leading EPC, who can present a unique opportunity to focus on defueling/Decommissioning now and potential new builds further down the line?

    Are you an experienced HSE Advisor/ practitioner? holding strong experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries?

    Do you currently hold a minimum of NEBOSH certification and strong knowledge of CDM regulations?

    Due to an increase in project wins, a unique opportunity has arisen to join our leading engineering cosultancy as a Health and Safety Engineer, where you will be working as part of a team to support key clients in the energy nuclear generation.

    You will focus specifically on defueling at this time, but an eye to the future to potential opportunities in new build or decommissioning and deconstruction.

    As a Health and Safety Engineer, you will help to assist in the defueling and decommissioning, by ensuring safe removal of all spent fuel from the reactor core, the cooling ponds and stores.

    HSE Engineers are accountable provide positive leadership on HSE matters within the Portfolio Project Teams and promote the adoption of best practice, with an enthusiastic HSE culture that delivers positive commitment to and engages all employees in continuous improvement in HSE performance.

    The HSE Engineer will monitor and report on the effectiveness of the HSE Management system and progress against HSE Performance Standards and will make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.

    The HSE Engineer is accountable to the client PPM or equivalent Group Head, with functional responsibilities to the client HSE Lead.

    Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible, however the role will predominantly be based at the Power Station.

    In this role you will report to the Operations Manager, but be accountable for project delivery directly to the client.

    Everyone working in our team will have a proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture.

    Good communication and organisational skills are a must with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks and be results-focused tempered with a team-centred approach.

    Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, Construction Certificate or NVQ Level 3.
    IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management
    Must be experienced in managing contractors and experience of accident investigation and reporting.
    Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
    Operational knowledge of current HSE legislation associated with project work.
