- Support the implementation of a measurement management system and its associated aspects.
- Create inspection processes for products and equipment, supporting the roll out and where necessary assisting the inspection process on the shop floor.
- Trend and investigate non-conformances on our core products and processes, supporting the production facility to preserve quality at the best lead time and cost. Assistance in our current and future inspection capability will be crucial for our manufacturing pipeline.
- Comfortable facilitating and identifying change in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge in various inspection techniques (optical, contact, and manual) and equipment.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly).
- Excellent communication and influencing attributes to work with all levels within the business.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate and work well within various teams.
- Ability to maintain a positive approach and able to apply blue sky thinking.
- HNC or equivalent within Metrology/an engineering discipline OR considerable experience in an inspection/metrology role.

The role
As a Manufacturing Engineer - Metrology you'll have a role that is challenging and ever evolving. Working within the manufacturing engineering team and with inspection and quality departments, you will take ownership of driving the overhaul of our inspection, its strategy and processes that support the current and future submarine capability within defence, shaping the way we inspect, plan and ensure we have the right equipment for our manufacturing needs.
Day to day, you'll:
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and is based on-site at our production facility at Ashton House, Bristol.
