This is an exciting opportunity to work at the UKs only Magnet accredited hospital, renowned for delivering care excellence to its patients.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated health care assistant for day case theatres to join our friendly, supportive team on Gateway G at The Treatment Centre.


At NUH we take great pride in having in place a team of highly trained Healthcare Assistants to provide quality and compassionate patient care.

These roles are essential to the experience of our patients and their relatives and carers and they complement the clinical care provided by our doctors, nurses, midwives and therapists.

This is a unique opportunity to work within Gateway G Day Case surgery based in the Treatment Centre at Nottingham University Hospitals


Gateway G has 5 operating theatres, 2 laminar flow, and covers general surgery, gynaecology, HPB, orthopaedics, urology, vascular and ophthalmology.

The surgery undertaken is elective and currently is Mon - Fri 08:00 - 18:00.


You will work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to provide support to the theatre team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


Whilst previous experience working in theatres would be advantageous, we would offer training for individuals who do not have relevant experience.

We want to hear from people with a special talent for caring and compassion, who are motivated and have an interest in theatre environment.


In return for your commitment and willingness to learn we will support you in undertaking further professional development, which will include The Trust educational programmes.

Annual Leave starts at 27 days a year plus bank holidays which increases with your years of NUH service.

We have 2 full-time (37.5 hours per week) opportunities available. The usual shift pattern 8am - 6pm.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Level of education to be assessed prior to interview
Desirable criteria

  • NVQ / QCF 2 in Healthcare ECDL
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience in dealing with customers, patients or clients in a work environment
Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in a health or social care setting
Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pass on information accurately
  • Good telephone skills

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
