You will join a multi-skilled team of senior engineers who work together on developing solutions with the task of supporting proprietary systems from the hardware up.


We are looking for a network SRE who understands how networks work at a fundamental level, codes in a language such as Python or Go, and is able to think about how problems can be solved using a broad array of tools and techniques, whilst not being limitedby conventional network thinking.


You may have been a network engineer, designer and/or architect and moved beyond core switching/routing into automating and monitoring everything possible by means of code.

It is likely you enjoy tinkering with all sorts of technology, particularly open-sourceor building tools yourself.

Fundamental computer science knowledge is important to us but being self-taught is just as valid as a computer science degree.

Key Attributes

  • Must have good development skills, not just scripting.

Ability to write code (not just scripts) in a language such as Python or Go, although any language is acceptable.


  • Strong network engineering and architecture skills
  • Knowledge of switch internals, Ethernet and TCP/IP, with good layer 2 (switching) and layer 3 (routing) knowledge. OSPF, BGP etc
  • Network management and/or monitoring via code
  • Comfortable at the Linux command line
  • Demonstrable ability to take on complicated projects with a minimum of oversight
  • Understanding what it takes to get the job done and perform work outside of your comfort zone. Some evidence of work beyond being 'just' a network engineer.
  • Tier 1 Internet service providers and internet exchanges
  • Multicast (IGMP/PIM), IPsec tunnels, VPNs
  • Firewall configuration and debugging
  • Metrics and log collection
  • Monitoring tools
  • Server hardware, Linux and bash scripting
  • Containerisation technology
  • Storage systems at the multiPB scale
