As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our estimating and surveying team.

Job Description:

As an Estimator - Groundworks and Civil Engineering, you will play a crucial role in our project bidding and tendering process.

Working closely with our estimating and surveying team, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates for groundworks and civil engineering works on commercial developments.

From tender documentation to BOQ reconciliation, take-offs, and site visits, your expertise in estimating, subcontractor liaison, and file preparation will be essential in supporting our project pursuits.

Responsibilities:

Review and analyze tender documentation to understand project requirements and specifications.
Conduct thorough BOQ (Bill of Quantities) reconciliation to ensure accurate costing.
Perform detailed takeoffs, measuring quantities of materials required for the project.
Visit project sites when necessary to assess site conditions and gather relevant information.
Liaise with subcontractors, obtaining quotes and assessing their suitability for the project.
Collaborate with the estimating and surveying team to determine cost estimates and pricing.
Prepare and present estimate output to senior management for review and signoff.
Ensure all estimate files are organized, complete, and ready for submission to the main contractor.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to groundworks and civil engineering estimation.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to optimize estimating processes and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications:

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an Estimator in the groundworks and civil engineering sector, preferably on commercial developments.
Strong knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering construction methodologies.
Proficiency in BOQ reconciliation, takeoffs, and cost estimation techniques.
Experience in liaising with subcontractors and managing subcontractor relationships.
Ability to interpret and analyze tender documentation accurately.
Familiarity with construction estimation software and tools.
Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical and analytical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
