Come and be part of UCLH at Westmoreland Street site. Due to internal secondment promotions, we have 2 ward Sister/Charge nurse vacancies both based at the UCLH at Westmoreland Street Hospital site based in Marylebone.
We are looking for Band 7 ward sisters/charge nurses who will work collaboratively across the site, ensuring that the teams have the support and skills to provide exceptional care to our patients across both wards, who is motivated to make a real difference with a caring and compassionate attitude excellent team-working, communication and leadership skills.
Post 1: Fix-Term 18 months Secondment Opportunity
3rd Floor Complex Urology Ward is a very busy 24 bedded surgical inpatient ward, specialising in a wide range of complex specialist conditions under six subspecialist teams: adolescent urology, andrology, female reconstruction, male reconstruction, stones, and uro-oncology to patients from all over the UK and Malta.
Post 2: Fix-Term 15 months Secondment Opportunity
4th Floor Thoracic Ward is a fast turn over 22 bedded surgical inpatient ward, specialising in a range of diagnostic, curative and palliative surgical cases for an elective and emergency pathway.
Across both acute inpatient wards our nursing and the wider multi-disciplinary teams provide patient centred care to a very high standard and are supported by strong clinical nurse specialist teams.
Main duties of the job
We are a forward thinking and supportive multi-disciplinary team at the UCLH at Westmoreland Street Site. It is a very exciting time across the site with development and progression of many services across Urology and Thoracic, with plenty of opportunities to develop your clinical, management and leadership skills.
Applicants will be expected to provide and facilitate delivery of the high-quality person-centred approach to care delivery and develop programmes of care as part of the wider multi-disciplinary teams, in line with local and national targets.
Recognise, assess, and manage risk across the immediate and wider working environment and make appropriate decision autonomously ensuring statutory requirements are met, supporting the Matrons to embed Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) into their clinical areas.
To be flexible in your approach to the clinical areas ensuring safe and effective staffing, acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
Have experience leading shifts and strong understanding of managing surgical flow is essential.
