We are excited to share a permanent job opening for CNC Setter at a well known manufacturing company in Pontypool.

Location:
Pontypool

Contract:
Permanent

Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday, Days/Nights/Afternoons weekly rotation.

Salary:
from £32,000 per annum

Higher salaries are available for greater levels of skills and experience.

These are dependent on the aligned skills and experience demonstrated at the interview and will be determined by the client.

Skills/ Experience:

Previous experience of operating CNC milling/ turning machines is essential
Knowledge of CNC metal cutting and boring
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
Previous experience in a manufacturing/automotive industry
Experience in working in a medium/high volume production environment
Understanding of quality systems and completing quality checks/gauging
Attention to detail is essential
Able to work with mínimal supervision

Key Duties:

Effective setting of CNC machines
Carrying out full/ partial changeovers including problem solving for accurate production
Run and validate programmes for production
Provide machining support and troubleshooting; escalating when required
Train, assess and validate competency development
Supports engineering and projects as required
Responsible for monitoring product quality via visual inspection and/or via gauge measurement
Monitor and record production output vs target and record any downtime and rejects
Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality and machine availability
