    We are seeking a talented, customer-centric Sports Hub Manager, who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Sports Centre and Facilities, and holiday activities programme.

    You will be involved with but not limited to the following duties: overseeing the smooth running of the Sports Hub and outdoor sports areas; developing customer relationships; heading up team recruitment, training and development, shift rostering; general running of services; The successful candidate will have a strong sporting background, excellent communication and customer service skills, a background in leisure management and a genuine love of the company of children.

    Experience delivering an amazing customer experience in a fast-paced customer facing business such as health and fitness, sports centres, is essential.

    The role is shift based, and there will be evening and weekend working to cover the Sports Facilities opening times.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Deputy Leisure Manager or Senior Sports Coach looking for a step into management with long-term development opportunities.

    Our new Director of Commercial Operations is introducing a number of new programmes and systems, so there is scope for this role to evolve as the deployment of these progresses.

    recruiting, training, and supervising staff, including managing staff rotas
    Carrying out health and safety checks on the equipment and site to include weekly and monthly checks, reporting any maintenance issues to the facilities team

    Complete competitor analysis, monitoring trends across all revenue streams within the Sports Hub, and deriving a quality, competitive programme to maximise usage of all facilities.

    Handling complaints and incidents, e.g., To be responsible for the work programme of casual coaches, and instructors
    Sports Hub
    Deliver fitness training or coaching in sports activities, develop a programme suitable for the Henderson Row Strength and Conditioning Suite, adding an additional revenue stream to our portfolio
    Develop an attractive range of children birthday party packages to promote to the external market, maximising use of the facilities within lull times, expanding our customer reach and brand awareness
    Work with the Commercial Director to review the operation of the Sports Hub, scheduling self-generated events and additional facility use to ensure all facilities are used to the optimum level and we our customer reach expands annually

    Out with camp season, be onsite whilst the sports centre is operational unless requirements dictate an alternative shift pattern.

    This shift pattern would be agreed in advance with the Director of Commercial Operations and any rota would detail coverage of all aspects of the Sports Hub
    Holiday Camps

    Work with the Commercial Director on developing the growth of Holiday Camps, to include new products that will appeal to a wide age range and the interests of Edinburgh children.

    Before each holiday club begins, the Sports Hub Manager will be responsible for the administration, preparation, and planning, communication with all stakeholders and ensuring the Sports Hub facilities are ready to host the forthcoming camp.

    Conduct bench marking and competitor analysis to derive a competitive and engaging programme of holiday time activities. Lead as the designated safeguarding officer, dealing with concerns in a timely manner, completing paperwork and risk assessments, responding to feedback, recording incidents, and managing all legislative requirements
    Child safety is our number one priority, and the welfare of children is paramount
    Supervision responsibilities include lunch, morning, and afternoon breaks, implementing our behaviour management policy, overseeing the use of equipment and upholding health and safety standards and procedures
    Financial, HR and Administrative Responsibility
    Adhere to the companies or organisation's financial policies and procedures
    Head up the staff recruitment, training, and development for the main sports hub with focus on sports attendants and holiday camp coaches
    Manage any immediate performance issues and escalate to the Commercial Director when appropriate
    Ensuring own and staff members' first aid and all other necessary training is up to date
    Assisting with ad hoc admin duties, suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions
    Support the Commercial Director in the preparation of annual budget for the Sports Hub
    Review and adhere to department budgets, variance reporting, Assist the Commercial Director in creating financial reports on a regular basis, including month end duties

    Produce staff rotas in line budget, ensuring we have adequate staff resource to deliver all sports hub activities safely and cost effectively.

    Ascertain training needs and establish suitable courses for individuals to benefit both personal development and organisational goals.
    Hold regular one to one session, bi-annual PDR reviews and support the team in development plan
    Submit payroll for the full sports hub team to finance within set time frames

    While these are the key responsibilities of the role, this is not necessarily an exhaustive list, and other duties may be required to ensure the smooth running of events in Edinburgh Academy facilities.

    At least 12 months' experience working with children from 5 – 17 years
    Childcare, sports or teaching related degree (or related qualification)
    Knowledge and experience of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Health and Safety
