Engineering Technician

Our company manufactures 50,000 products each year and exports to 80+ countries. We have great products, great people and great customers.

To enable us to continue building our business we are looking to recruit a self-motivated and experienced EngineeringTechnician to join our Research and Development Engineering Team.


Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Work with project teams to support new product development projects by testing concepts and final designs. Document and archive test reports.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality to test product improvements and cost reductions.
  • Work with Engineering team to manage the testing facility. Ensure facilities are maintained and equipment is calibrated.
  • Support qualification test plans and execute the required product testing against the relevant legislative requirements and compile technical files for approval.
  • Organise, manage and conduct testing of new and current products to support design, quality and sourcing (cost reduction and new suppliers) activities.
  • Work with project engineers to design and build appropriate test fixtures.
  • Test and report as required.
  • Provide customer support when required and help with problem investigations.
  • Test appliances weekly, record results and review the technical file and information for errors.
  • Ability to support installation, trials and customer service issues on site (staying away and travel required).
  • Maintain the company's calibrated equipment. Identify and send for calibration. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Formal engineering qualification

  • HNC, HND, preferably mechanical, is advantageous but equivalent industry experience will also be relevant.
  • Electrical and gas experience is a benefit.
  • Agile and effective management of personal workload to maximise contribution.
  • Mechanical and electrical dexterity is essential in order to assemble mechanical and electrical components, test jigs and fixtures.
  • Effective team worker, able to support the work of the team.
  • Ability to write a report.
  • Attention to detail, particularly to safety requirements, is essential.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able and willing to support customers in the UK, Europe and possibly US and Asia
