    Library Development Officer (North)

    Part Time, 15 hours per week working Mondays and Tuesdays, Fixed Term until 28th November 2025

    Bristol Libraries are looking for a keen, experienced and committed development officer to work closely with local communities and Library Friends Groups to enable them to get the best out of their library service.

    Through our engagement work we already deliver tailored services through our libraries that reflect what communities want from their local library.

    We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our existing team. This role has responsibility for libraries and communities in North Bristol primarily working alongside our other Library Development Officers but will also be involved in city wide outreach and Reader Development projects as part of our wider Reader Engagement Team.

    Responsibilities include:

  • developing communications with local communities
  • identifying community needs
  • piloting and evaluating solutions, projects, events and activities
  • building relationships with partners.
  • You will need to have experience in working with local communities to develop and deliver local services.

    You will need to be a good communicator with strong problem solving and creative skills, backed up with strong organisational and IT skills.

    Working Hours: Part Time, (15 hours per week), Mondays and Tuesdays though some evenings and weekends and flexibility required.

    Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
