    Make your mark as an Environmental Scientist at Gardline

    We are looking for Environmental Scientists to undertake environmental based survey activities and marine mammal mitigation onboard our fleet on multi-role survey vessels along with being actively involved in the use of PAMS and noise monitoring systems in accordance with appropriate legislation, during offshore noise monitoring activities, both nationally and internationally.

    This is a predominantly seagoing role, with an expectation of completing circa 120 days offshore in the first year. Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
    Initially and on ad-hoc occasions when not offshore, the role will be office based in Great Yarmouth.
    Operating equipment to collect environmental samples from the water column and the seabed for onshore laboratory analysis without disturbing, damaging or contaminating samples

    Ensuring sample integrity is maintained, including storage on board and accurate recording onto log sheets, together with the safe despatch of samples, data and log sheets on completion of field trips.

    Maintenance and upkeep of all environmental team acoustic equipment
    Advise on country specific legislation regarding marine acoustic mitigation measures during seismic and other marine activities.
    Process the data onshore, working closely with the specialist Environmental reporting team, to produce quality reports for our clients
    Your qualities
    You can make your mark as an Environmental Scientist if you have:
    Qualifications to degree level in a marine sciences related subject
    Knowledgeable and skilled in species recognition, habitat mapping and awareness of international Environmental guidelines.

    The position of Environmental Scientist is a fulltime role, 12 hour shift rotations whilst onboard, offshore
