Job Overview:
We are seeking skilled and reliable lead solar PV installers to join our team.

As a lead solar PV installer, you will be responsible for leading various tasks on our installation sites or similar work environments.

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to perform manual labour and operate a variety of tools and equipment.

You will have already have an appropriate period of experience as a solar PV installer, at least 5 years, and probably already a team leader.

You will have extensive knowledge of the main mounting systems and roof types, particularly commercial. You will be confident at leading from the front by example, and getting the best performance from your team.


Duties:


  • Lead and direct general installation duties such as setting out and fixing mounting systems, fixing panels, stringing, crimping MC4s and running DC cable
  • Taking instructions from the project managers and head of technical delivery, and leading your team
  • Lead the setup and cleanup of work areas
  • Train and direct the use of hand tools and power tools as required
  • Work with other skilled tradespeople as needed
  • Lead and ensure safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:


  • Extensive previous experience in a solar PV installation, preferably leading a team
  • Familiarity with a wide range of brands and types of panels, mountings, roofs and inverters
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems is beneficial
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings is a plus
  • Good knowledge of health and safety practices
