Role Purpose


Responsible for the provision and management of all Quality Engineering related issues including: Ensure that quality is maintained by adherence to Customer and Regulatory requirements, Ensure that valid Quality Processes are deployed within the manufacturing process and drive effective corrective action for all product and process non-compliances.

Manage the customer and key stakeholders in respect of all product quality related issues and ensure the appropriate dialog is maintained throughout.

Support the management of the Supplier Product Quality issues across the Spirit AeroSystems Europe organisation and drive effective corrective action for all supplier product and process non-compliances.

Responsible for the leadership and problem resolution of quality engineering constraints and manufacturing issues both in-house and in the supply chain.

Work in partnership with the Operations team to drive a quality mindset and compliance methodology using the designated quality review processes to deliver improvements.

Responsibilities:


  • Support the planning and resourcing of quality engineering support for the projects to ensure the execution of all planned arrangements for quality control and quality assurance as appropriate to the business.
  • Support the development of Quality Metrics for the Operations Management team which gives visibility of noncompliance status and progress of corrective and preventive actions within the manufacturing processes. Report regularly on the quality performance of the project, establish targets for improvement, analyse the data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory authority requirements, industry standards and customer requirements as defined by the following; AS9100 Aerospace Standard, NADCAP, CAA and EASA Airworthiness Regulations and customer specific quality requirements.
  • Responsible for the management of the Material Review Board (MRB) process identifying and implementing recommendations as necessary to ensure material is dispositioned efficiently and all corrective action is taken to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Support the customer interface for all product quality issues such as G8D's, Fault Reports, eSCAN's, NCN's, Disclosures etc and ensure that all actions are managed to an agreed timescale.
  • Support the management of the day to day supplier product quality issues through the team and ensure that the Supplier Quality management team are engaged with all issues and the escalation process is deployed to resolve systemic problems.
  • Manage and actively liaise with Spirit Europe Tier 1 suppliers, to ensure product and process quality problems, NC1's, Concessions, Disclosures etc. are managed to an agreed timescale are quickly and effectively addressed.
  • Establish a formal Quality Review process with the Tier 1 suppliers on a monthly or as required basis and ensure this review monitors corrective/preventive action status and effectiveness. Where appropriate NADCAP and customer approval status must be reviewed in terms of our customer commitment.
  • Establish and maintain a supplier surveillance process which ensures goods and services from suppliers achieve our quality standards through the ongoing product audit and monitoring of performance.
  • Manage the preparation, planning, resourcing and execution of First Article qualification plans for all Tier 1 suppliers into Spirit Europe.
  • Develop a Supplier Quality Metric in support of the Operations Team which gives visibility of noncompliance status and progress of preventive actions in the supply chain. Report monthly on supplier quality performance, develop targets, analyse factors behind problems and generate solutions.
  • Manage the Delegated Source Inspection process within the supply chain, ensure that all requirements are being met and that the process is robust.
