    Live Life Aberdeenshire's Cultural Services is delighted to offer this opportunity to join the team at an exciting time of development. We are looking to recruit creative, passionate, forward thinking team players to help drive the service forward and deliver on our ambitious plans including the Council's multi-million-pound project in Peterhead to create a Museum of Aberdeenshire.

    As a key member of the project team, you will have highly-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and communicate with a range of individuals and groups and project management experience of high-quality participatory cultural programmes.

    The post of Learning and Access Officer is responsible for building and expanding sustainable partnerships with Peterhead-based groups and organisations. With cross-service colleagues, the post holder will identify audiences and promote best practice for learning and access for the new museum project. Key activities will include organising and delivering community workshops and outreach activities in Peterhead to meet the outcomes and outputs for the project. The work will then feed into the creation of dynamic and accessible outreach, education and exhibition programmes.

    There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

    Secondment opportunities will be considered based on the advertised salary, subject to candidates having the mutual consent of their current employer.

    This post requires a Disclosure Scotland Check and where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check. You will be required to provide this check.

    This post also regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
