GCP Data Engineer

Remote (UK) with occassional client travel

£80,000 - £110,000
I'm currently working with a London-based consultancy to find a Senior GCP Data Engineer to add to their team. The role is new and is due to continued success and growth. The role is UK-based but largely remote.


The Role

• Work directly with business analysts to understand Specification documentation and deliver suitable technical specifications.
• Work with Test Engineers to build robust, extensible, scalable solutions which can be tested automatically where possible.
• Understand and support the integration of DevOps in BI.
• Design, build, test and debug database and/or BI solutions based upon specified requirements.
• Development, maintenance and support of new and existing Qlik Data Analytics and Integration estates.
• Efficient datamodel design and development.
• Efficient Data Warehouse/Data Lake development and testing.
• Extensive knowledge of database technologies (E.g. Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server).

• Preferred

• Developing, testing, and debugging Replicate & Compose packages.

Skills:

• Knowledge of GCP specifically Google Sub/Pub, Google BigQuery and Google DataFlow
• Database schema development (SQL/TSQL/PLSQL).

• Jira software experience

• Developer Role.
• Data Modelling.
• Data Visualisation Techniques.
• Data Literacy.
• Requirements Gathering.
• Customer Service.
• BI tooling (Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI).
• Database configuration/management (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres).
• Relevant experience of working in a data visualisation, development and modelling role.
• Experience gathering requirements from stakeholders and understanding business deliverables.
• Consulting Experience would be advantageous.
