Description
Our lovely Client based in Worcester are looking to recruit a Freight Forward Transport Planner

  • Our client is a fast growing and excelling business who has just been awarded Small Business of the year 2023
As a freight forwarding transport planner, you will be working hand in hand with the Logistics Coordinator and Manager.


You will be required to organise shipments through an established network of contacts, using the services of shipping lines, airlines and road and rail freight operators especially throughout Europe.


Responsibilities:


  • Arrange appropriate packing, taking into account the climate, terrain, weight, cost and nature of goods and also the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination
  • Negotiate contracts, transportation and handling costs
  • Obtain, check and prepare documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries' regulations and fiscal regimes
  • Arrange payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment on behalf of the client
  • Arrange courier and specialist handcarry services
  • Maintain communication and control through all phases of the journey, including the production of management reports and statistical and unitcost analysis
  • Investigate and plan the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking into account the perishable or hazardous nature of goods, cost, transit time and security

Experience:


  • Previous experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar role preferred
  • European Transport experience would be ideal
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet productivity goals
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Flexibility is key.
Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday 7:30am4:30pm / 8:30am 5:30pm


you will be required to share an "On Call" phone out of normal working hours as standard, Bonus will be paid for this requirement.

Salary:
From £25,000.00 per year
