    We are excited to invite you join our Trust as a full time role as a Reporting Sonographer .

    You will assist the Imaging Manager in the performance of duties by providing a high quality ultrasound service . To carry out general ultrasound, abdominal and gynaecological examinations. To perform diagnostic ultrasound scans undertaking own workload and independently reporting ultrasound examinations to a high accurate standard .

    To report any equipment malfunctions immediately to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and ensure that appropriate action is taken to rectify and repair the fault.

    To be prepared to undertake regular quality assurance checks and to document the outcome


    To assist the service to meet the standards for the Care Quality Commission standards and comply with relevant NICE guidelines.


    To undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and as agreed with the line manager as part of the personal development planning process.

    To fully participate in the Trusts appraisal system review and personal development planning process on an annual basis.


    To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role, including project work internal job rotation and absence cover.

    To be able to supervise the work of newly qualified staff, bank staff and assistants and to provide training where necessary to staff/students.

    Degree level qualification in Radiology
    Post Graduate certificate/diploma in Medical Ultrasound
    Ability to interpret ultrasound scans and make an appropriate diagnosis
    Ability to interpret complex ultrasound scans
