Role Overview:

As the SENCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds, have access to high-quality education and support services.

You will lead the Special Educational Needs (SEN) department, collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create tailored learning plans that meet the diverse needs of our students.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the implementation of the SEN policy and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Identify students with special educational needs and coordinate assessments to develop personalised learning plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective strategies and accommodations for students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, including educational psychologists and healthcare professionals, to access additional support services for students.
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to foster positive relationships and ensure their involvement in the SEN process.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEN, adjusting interventions and support strategies as needed.

Requirements:


  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience in SEN coordination or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of dedicated SEN staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of developments in SEN provision.
