    Hours:
    Monday to Friday 8-hour day, core hours 9am to 3pm. Welcome applications from people who need flexibility in working hours. Occasional evening work may be required.

    As part of our commitment to this mission, we are seeking an Education Engagement Coordinator based in Scotland who will realise our mission to engage students at schools and colleges with our vision of inclusive engineering.

    Role OverviewAs an Education Engagement Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering innovative STEM engagement sessions in secondary schools and employability skills workshops in colleges.

    This position requires a passionate individual who believes in making a difference through education, particularly in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in engineering fields.

    You will help participants to see themselves in engineering roles.

    Key research shows people are interested in STEM, see it as important but don't take the step of seeing themselves working in STEM.

    We must help them take that step.


    Key ResponsibilitiesSTEM Engagement:
    Plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging STEM sessions in secondary schools across Scotland. This involves collaborating with schools, developing session content, and ensuring the delivery is inclusive and accessible to all students.


    Employability Skills Workshops:
    Organise and conduct workshops on employability skills in colleges, focusing on the unique opportunities within the engineering sector. These sessions should empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate their career paths effectively.


    DEI Advocacy:
    Integrate principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of your work, championing these values in education. Advocate for social justice and the importance of engineering in making the world a better place.


    Partnership Building:
    Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions, industry partners, and community organisations to support and enhance the delivery of our programmes

    Feedback and Reporting:
    Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to evaluate the impact of the sessions. Provide regular reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management.
    Essential Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, or a related field.
    Demonstrable experience in delivering educational sessions or workshops, particularly in STEM subjects.
    Strong understanding and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
    Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of students, educators, and partners.
    A passion for social justice and the role of engineering in societal improvement.

    This post requires proof of right to work in the UK, satisfactory references and a satisfactory enhanced DBS/PVG Disclosure (the cost of which will be met by the EqualEngineers).Desirable AttributesMaster's in STEM communicationsExperience working in or with the engineering sector, particularly in roles promoting DEI.Knowledge of the Scottish education system and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
