    Description

    The assistant commercial manager will require some knowledge and experience in pre and post-contract management and procurement within commercial contract management in the rail or infrastructure sector.

    You will be expected to utilise experience and knowledge of supplier relationships and contract management to drive efficiencies in the supply chain.

    The assistant commercial manager shall be Educated to a degree standard in a related subject and working towards Associate Member of a relevant professional institute with Chartered status.

    Profile

    The key services offered by the Assistant Commercial Manager are anticipated as, but not limited to the following;

    monitor and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects and portfolio of works.

    Support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules.

    The assistant commercial manager will support on commercial review and valuation of contractor applications for payment in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and contractual entitlement.

    Produce appropriate commercial correspondence and contractual notices for issue in accordance with contractual conditions.

    Contract administration of industry standard and bespoke forms of contract including NEC and ICC terms.

    Ensure that commercial records are retained and archived properly.

    Support in the pre-contract procurement of suppliers/main contractors and consultants for projects and programmes.

    Essential

    • Commercial experience and aptitude.

    • Understanding of Commercial processes.

    • General experience in report writing and numerical data manipulation

    • General experience in delivering oral presentations

    • MS Office i.e. at least intermediate Excel and Word skills

    • Studying for professional qualification
