The role:

  • The successful Category Strategy Manager will be a trusted advisor to the commercial teams driving category strategy through actionable insights creating customer centric commercial initiatives
  • As Category Strategy Manager you will lead, develop and manage a small team focusing on identifying business insights and producing category reviews focused on product development, promotional planning, pricing etc
  • Working closely with cross functional teams the Category Strategy Manager will pull together competitor and market data analysis to drive strategy and decision making across the business.
  • The Category Strategy Manager will work with the senior leadership team to identify opportunities to maximize sales and profit whilst exceeding customers needs and wants
  • You will currently be working in buying, category, strategy o business planning ideally within a food retailer or FMCG blue chip supplier
  • It is essential that you can demonstrate excellent data insight and analysis skills along with proven experience in category management with a strong understanding in ranging, pricing, promotional planning etc
  • Working as part of a wider team you must have excellent relationship building skills you will be able to communicate and influence with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ideally you will have managed and developed at least 1 team member
  • You will have excellent project management, strategic thinking and leadership skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative or as part of a wider cross functional team a selfstarter with cando attitude. Excellent presentation andengagement skills are essential
  • You will thrive in a growth orientated fast paced environment with high levels of integrity and a community feel
