    A leading insurance organisation are looking for a Delegated Authority Underwriter with exposure to MGA or brokerage to join their highly innovative team. This department supports Brokers and Underwriters in developing existing insurance products and launching new products as Binding Authorities and other types of Delegated Authority Agreements. While they have offices based in the South East, City, and South West this vacancy can also be performed on a fully remote basis if preferred. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract with strong potential to go permanent.

    Delegated Authority Underwriter Key Responsibilities

    • Nurture strong links with Lloyd's, Lloyd's Insurance Company and the LMA.
    • Leading discussions with Delegated Authority teams in our capacity providers to ensure they are kept up to date with plans and changes in advance of renewals or during negotiation of changes and to understand their needs.
    • Leading renewals for specific SPSs within AUM, working with the Delivery & Development manager to ensure that progress is communicated to key stakeholders.
    • Support Underwriting teams in articulating performance of SPSs to carriers, by holding quarterly review calls across all SPSs.
    • Challenge processes and procedures where they are ineffective and ensure all processes and procedures are in place for all key tasks, documented and followed.
    • Responsible for following Governance and risk management steps for an SPS.
    • Working with the Reporting, Operations, Claims and Fiduciary function managers to ensure that contractual obligations are met, by both time and quality measures (including but not limited to monthly reporting, premium payments and profit commissions). Where there is any deviation, communication to our carriers should be provided.
    • Drafting SPS Agreements and endorsements as required. Joint ownership of the Agreement templates ensuring they meet minimum requirements.
    • Responsibility for Risk Legal and Compliance monthly meetings.
    • Liaising with the Lloyd's Delegated Authority Department on Delegated Authority issues and market initiatives.
    • Analyse portfolio to gain insight into existing SPSs with Underwriting managers, drawing conclusions and findings to be presented to drive growth.

    Delegated Authority Underwriter Skills and Attributes

    • A sound understanding of Delegated Authority and core insurance processes.
    • Strong process excellence knowledge with a focus on problem solving

    • Expertise to provide solutions to complex requirements
    • Good understanding of compliance and FCA regulation.
