Description

Doing Amazing Things Together Make a difference to someone's life through Positive Behaviour Support**What's important to you? Is it being included, having choice over what you do and taking part in the things that matter most to you?

We work with young people with learning disabilities, Autism and sometimes mental health conditions using Positive Behaviour Support, techniques that are built on the principles of inclusion, choice and participation.

These young people are at significant risk of entering specialist residential care.

Through Positive Behaviour Support, we can change the outcomes for these young people - change their lives.

Our strategies and interventions can be the difference between a locked door of residential care, or an open door to anywhere they want to go.

We are looking for people with compassion, courage and creativity to join our team in Gloucestershire and train to become a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner.

You will be supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge on a 1 to 1 basis to improve their quality of life.

As well as working as part of our team, you will be working in very close partnership with and alongside the young person's parents, teachers and other professionals to ensure that the PBS strategies keep them living at home, going to a local school and enjoying their community.

We will train you in everything you need to know about Positive Behaviour Support, but if you believe every young person deserves the chance to reach their potential, you've got a head start.

Why Join Us? Why work for us**We can support you in studying Positive Behaviour Support BTEC level 4, and there is a salary increase when you achieve this qualification. We can also offer career progression in this area or adult social support. We also offer a meaningful package of benefits including a Blue Light Card, health cash plan and paid-for DBS check.

What does a PBS Practitioner do?

Holding a full UK driving license and having access to your own vehicle is essential and you should be prepared to travel across the area for this role.

You will be supported by a PBS Service lead /Senior PBS Practitioner to deliver the highest quality and standards of Positive Behaviour Support to children and young people.

You will keywork an agreed number of young people, devising and delivering person-centred PBS interventions in their home, school, community and other settings.

You will provide direct support to the young person, modelling good practice and providing guidance to their parents, teachers and other professionals involved in their care.

We're committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
