    Leading Law Firm - Personal Injury Litigator - Slough - £40,000 +

    The Role

    We are recruiting for a leading Law firm in search for experienced Personal Injury Litigators to provide a first-class service to both Union and private clients in the area of Personal Injury, litigating Fast Track matters.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Managing own casework of litigated files (Personal Injury matters) that are outside the portal
    • Acting for claimants in Fast Track matters (EL/PL/RTA) adhering to procedural, funding guidelines and limits and providing support to partners and senior solicitors.
    • Providing support and liaising with Portal Caseworkers to identify claims likely to be outside the portal.
    • Judging liability on Portal cases where liability is denied and deciding whether litigation is appropriate.
    • Understanding medical issues in the context of PI claims and how to investigate and apply these to the law in the best interest of the client.
    • Develop an understanding of financial management of files (WIP, disbursements, billing, and profitability) and working as to meet or exceed set targets.
    • Being professionally responsible for all aspects of the job to include compliance with external regulatory bodies, as well as ensuring quality of work and financial performance.
    • Any other relevant tasks allocated by management.

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

    • Valid clean Practising Certificate / Admitted solicitor with current Practising Certificate in place (no conditions attached or regulatory body's restriction on ability to practice).
    • Prior experience on good quality claimant PI matters - minimum 2-3 years' experience post admission.
    • Extensive Portal experience, including both files within and outside the portal (Fast Track) and ability to supervise portal caseworkers
    • Strong academic track background.
    • Previous experience litigating PI claims.
    • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
    • Able to exercise own initiative, with good problem-solving skills.
    • Able to apply sensitivity, confidentiality, and empathy regarding clients' matters.
    • A professional attitude and excellent client care.
    • Attention to detail and pride in own work.
    • Adept at time management and able to work to strict deadlines.
    • Business acumen.
    • Commitment to Service Quality and Client Care.
    • IT literacy - Microsoft packages, and Solicitors Case Management Systems (Partner for Windows preferred).
