Our client takes Diversity, Equity & Belonging seriously, and seeks an experienced professional from the EDI world to make a tangible and lasting difference to their organisation, their members and the profession they represent. This is an exciting role, a chance to own deliverables and outputs following a huge strategic EDI consultation, and the opportunity to lead on all aspects of a multi-point plan to improve diversity and equity.

The role offers a broad and challenging remit, and the successful candidate will engage heavily with staff, members and under-represented groups. You'll manage volunteers and involve a wide spectrum of members and other stakeholders in planning and strategic decision-making. You'll need to be organised, resilient and proactive – and able to deliver.

You'll be adept at building relations, and you'll work with staff teams to help them prioritise EDI activities, as well as regularly report to Council and representative groups about the progress you're making. You'll also need to keep horizon scanning, and be flexible enough to spot and adapt to new opportunities and methods to drive EDI within the remit of the strategy. keeping on top of benchmarking and researching EDI data in other industries and related professions. You'll also be a skilled project manager, with a completer-finisher personality as well as the necessary charisma to bring people with you on the journey. Experience of running groups and working with volunteers is imperative, ideally with some knowledge of the health sector or within statutory services - although this is only desirable, since coming from an entirely different industry might mean you offer a fresh perspective to the organisation.
