Nissan Sunderland Data Science Degree Apprenticeship
Data Science is a broad and fast-moving field spanning maths and statistics, software engineering and communications.


As a Data Science Apprentice at Nissan Sunderland, you will join a Digital Innovation team within business functions including Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Quality Assurance.

Each team is dedicated to using the latest digital technologies to improve our manufacturing process and support the factory to produce cars.


No two days will be the same, but you can expect to learn and use skills like data visualisation, programming, data cleaning and transformation, project management and training artificial intelligence models.

Together these skills will enable you to support Nissan in gaining new insights and making data-driven decisions.


A perfect fit for this role should bring strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with project stakeholders.

You should have a good eye for detail and be motivated to grow and develop new skills.

Apprenticeship overview


This scheme combines both practical and theoretical skills allowing our Apprentices to gain valuable insight into all aspects of automotive manufacturing and Data Science.


You will acquire the skills and knowledge to work as a member of a team responsible for exploiting Nissan digital manufacturing data for improvement activities across the factory.

You will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge data tools and AI challenges in the industry.


The degree apprenticeship will be spent on day release at university and full-time at Nissan over a period of five years.

Throughout the first three years of this apprenticeship, you'll complete off-the-job training at university on day release and four days full-time at Nissan within your department.


Following successful completion of the three years, you will then enrol onto Nissan's graduate scheme, based within an allocated department, for the final two years of the programme.


What you'll achieve at the end of your Degree Apprenticeship:

  • Data Analyst Degree Apprenticeship (Digital and Technology Solutions Professional L6)

What you'll need:


  • 120 UCAS points (achieved or predicted).
  • You must have permission to live and work in the UK without restriction.
  • A willingness to learn with a passion for Mathematics, Data and Digital Technology
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Creative and forward thinking
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced organization.
  • Willing to travel if required.
  • Your uptodate CV; including predicted or achieved grades for ALL qualifications.
