    Dermatology Paediatric Specialist Nurse Practitioner - Band 6


    Part-time - 22.An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced paediatric nurse who has an interest in Dermatology, to cover maternity leave for 12 months.

    Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of two years' paediatric experience in a clinical setting. A qualification in paediatric nursing is essential in line with NMC registration.

    Experience of dermatology nursing and a qualification as a paediatric nurse prescriber is highly desirable, but not essential for the post.

    The role will not require weekend, evening or night shift working patterns.

    The post holder will work in partnership with the Dermatology medical, nursing and research teams, to lead and develop the paediatric service within Dermatology.

    Working with senior medical clinicians, the practitioner will be expected to contribute to the running of the paediatric clinics in an outpatient setting, educate patients and their carers and provide advisory support as necessary.

    You will also be expected to run paediatric nurse led clinics and manage a caseload of patients.

    You will be required to diagnose and administer treatments, as well as educate and support patients and carers, related to paediatric dermatology conditions.

    Such nurse led clinics include eczema, acne and general paediatric dermatology clinics.

    You will also be required to provide educational support to other members of the Dermatology nursing team and beyond and proactively contribute to the delivery of safe paediatric care.

    The role will be an integral part of the unit team, ensuring a high quality service to patients. The role will be supported and include education and training, leading to subsequent competency completion.
    First degree in nursing, (HEI Level 5 or 6) or equivalent
    At least 2 years' experience of working in paediatric specialty
    Demonstrable post graduate level working

    Demonstrates up to date knowledge in paediatric care
    Knowledge of the key professional issues and NMC guidelines relating to professional practice
    Experience in running nurse led clinics
