    Job Description

    Position Purpose

    The Global Ethics and Compliance Investigator will manage that Brambles Speak Up programme. In this role, the investigator will manage and oversee investigations undertaken by Brambles and its Group Companies. This may include leading investigations and supervising the work of other investigators. The investigator will develop and implement strategies, procedures, tools and systems that underpin the Brambles Speak Up programme to ensure program scalability, appropriate risk triage and consistency. The programme will need to have clear measures and reporting of SLAs and resolution as well as corrective action. A successful candidate in this role will be a self-starter who has the independent judgment necessary to manage complex investigations, possesses excellent written skills and the demonstrated ability to use data. Most investigations will involve different functions across different countries and will require strong working relationships and communication across teams.

    Travel requirements: 25-40% Travel, some international locations for investigations.

  • Major/Key Accountabilities

    This role will manage the Brambles' Speak Up programme. This includes assessing and triaging reports and monitoring and, where appropriate, carrying out investigations globally as well as developing and continuously improving the Brambles' Speak Up programme itself. This role will have responsibility for the following:

  • Managing Brambles' Speak Up programme, triaging and assessing cases and, where appropriate, assigning trained investigators to respond
  • Identifying, training and providing guidance and support to investigators globally
  • Thoroughly and effectively carrying out complex investigations in a timely and unbiased way, which succinct, sound, well-reasoned and high-quality interview and investigation summaries and reports
  • Integrating data analytics tools and procedures as part of planning and carrying out investigations
  • Ensuring all investigations into Code of Conduct concerns include root cause analyses
  • Working closely with stakeholders in the business units and functional teams to identify and implement appropriate corrective action
  • Providing succinct, high-quality briefings to leadership and other stakeholders concerning individual investigation matters
  • Preparing regular reports and presentations to leadership and other stakeholders regarding investigation trends, case studies and insights
  • Assisting with human rights inspections at third parties, as assigned; and carrying out compliance risk assessments, as assigned.

    Within the scope of his/her/their global compliance objectives, duties and responsibilities, the Global Ethics and Compliance Investigator is authorized to:

  • To carry out investigations and make corrective action recommendations
  • To assign investigations to internal subject matter experts and to review and assess whether investigations are thorough and corrective action recommendations are sufficient
  • To make recommendations regarding updates and changes to Brambles' Speak Up programme, to include the Speak Up Policy and investigation procedures.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree
  • 7 years investigative or compliance-related experience
  • Ability to navigate matrix organization and complex compliance issues while exhibiting sound judgment and objectivity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid analytical/problem solving skills and ability to determine root cause and identify viable and alternate solutions
  • Proven successful investigation/project management in developing and executing all phases of an investigation plan including collection, review and analysis of data, information and records; conducting interviews; documenting work completed; drafting findings and conclusions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are effective with the appropriate tact and diplomacy for all levels of the organization as well as for external counsel.
  • Ability to discuss and debate various topics with senior executive leadership
  • Superior personal integrity and ethics, including an exceptional sense of discretion
  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to garner the trust of others, build productive internal and external professional relationships with the ability to influence others in a multi-cultural environment

  • Certified Fraud Investigator
  • Experience conducting fraud, conflicts of interest or corruption-related claims
  • Experience

  • Corporate compliance experience in a diversified global company.
  • Experience in carrying out investigations and/or risk assessments.
  • Experience in delivering training and guiding others.
