Programme Duration: 2 years

Graduate Programme;


During this programme, you'll gain valuable insight into our services and strategic projects and we'll help you to further develop your skills and knowledge so that you can succeed in your career.

What you'll be doing;

  • Support the immediate and other teams in delivering Landfill operations, ensuring all staff, visitors and contractors follow site rules
  • Lead by example and support the wider management team to show, promote and acknowledge positive behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture
  • Support with the control of waste reception, acceptance and disposal operations
  • Ensure everyone on site is trained, inducted and monitored to ensure the correct standard of working
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the VMR, ISO and regulatory standards, Environmental Permits, Waste Acceptance, Discharge Consent and associated management
  • Agreed operational targets are achieved in respect of risk and assurance performance, all accidents, incidents and close calls are reported
  • Management of abnormal and emergency situations
  • Act as an issuing authority for relevant Permits to Work
  • Build and maintain good relationships with neighbours, local councils, regulators (EA/HSE) and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate visits by regulatory authorities and assist with the organisation and management of stakeholder visits
  • Monitor activities to ensure roles are undertaken in accordance with expectations
  • Undertake personal development to enhance knowledge and skills

What we're looking for;

  • Degreelevel qualification in environmental sciences and engineering (to be achieved by Sept 2024) with an interest in management
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Eager to learn and passionate
  • Creative problemsolving and a passion for trying new ideas
