The Department of Chemistry is seeking a specialist analytical chemist to head the Organic & Biological Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy facilities in the Chemistry Research Laboratory at the University of Oxford.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision and management of the service to support the research and teaching in the Department, as well as planning for future NMR spectroscopy needs, equipment, writing proposals for funding, introducing new techniques, and developing the service and its facilities.

The Department of Chemistry features world-class high-resolution NMR spectroscopy facilities.

The combined Organic, Biological and Inorganic NMR facilities house thirteen solution-state and two solid-state FT NMR instruments, with proton operating frequencies ranging up to 700 MHz.

The facility supports the full range of chemical sciences research across the department and university including synthetic organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, chemical biology, enzymology, metabolomics, catalysis and materials science.
