    Description

    PR Systems Marine Electronics Ltd are seeking a motivated and hardworking team player to join them as an Apprentice Marine Electrician.

    Pay increase will depend on performance.
    The successful candidate will receive a tool allowance.

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, may include travel and evening and weekend work as required.
    Level 3 (A level)
    Installation of new DC and AC systems and equipment
    Fault finding of DC and AC installations and equipment
    Navigation system installations, fault finding and commissioning
    Installation and fault finding of AV systems, satellite and communication systems
    Working within our chandlery retail outlet to learn about other boat parts and products
    The training you will be getting
    You will be working towards a Level 3 Marine Electrician Apprenticeship Standard
    You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor
    You will be required to attend Falmouth Marine School on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training
    City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Marine Construction, Systems Engineering and Maintenance - all relevant units.
    City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Marine Electrical Engineering (Advanced) – with the exception of unit 312 learning outcome 5 which is integrated in to the EPA
    Marine Electronics Installer (MEI)

    What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

    On successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be the opportunity to move through the engineer levels and to run your own projects from enquiry to handover.

    Desired skills and personal qualities
    GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C) Essential
    There are public transport links and there is a small amount of free car parking at the location.

    The successful candidate will need to be willing and able to attend Falmouth Marine School one day a week during term time.

    We have a small chandlery retail outlet, which means we can help the customer in nearly every part of their boat maintenance, from antifoul to complex electronic system and upgrades.
