Major Recruitment are currently recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work with our client in Marston Green, Birmingham


About The Role
Carrying out a range of seasonal gardening duties.

Your main aim will be to work as part of a team to complete a range of activities for a key contract, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered at all times.


Location:
Marston Green, Birmingham


Pay rate:
£11.5 p/h


Working hours: 5 days a week 40h

06:00-17:00 17:00- 06:00

MUST DRIVE

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role
Carrying out a range of seasonal gardening duties.

To ensure the work is carried out safely to specification and to the customer's satisfaction. To take responsibility for the upkeep of the grounds maintenance of the estate.


Health & Safety Purpose:

To take a direct interest in the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your work activities.


  • The Estates Groundsman is responsible for ensuring the standards of work are consistent and compliant with those in the specification and that a quality service is provided in the most cost effective way.
  • All record keeping being kept up to date to meet time schedules and other criteria. Paperwork to be filed in orderly manner.
  • Liaise with colleagues and manager/supervisor regarding any defective/unsafe equipment/hazards or issues affecting personnel or the operation.

You will:


  • Cut grass using rideon mowers, pedestrian mowers and strimmer's.
  • Hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, shrub bed maintenance and other seasonal activities including, gritting, snow clearing and Christmas tree installation.
  • Be responsible for the general tidiness of the site.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • A good awareness of Health and Safety regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of grounds maintenance with knowledge of horticulture preferred.
  • Selfmotivation with the ability to use own initiative.
- _A full UK driving licence._
- _A PA1 and PA6 spraying certificate - essential._
- _A chainsaw license would be advantageous._
- _Tractor driving experience would be advantageous._

Salary:
£11.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Birmingham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
