    Activities Coordinator - Mental Health - Mental Health / Social Care - 30k to 37k - SE London

    This post is working for an organsiation that support people with mental health challenges through sheltered housing and assisting with daily life assistance. This appointment will contribute towards and advance the overall Mission, Corporate Values, Working Principles, growth, and success of the organisation. The person is responsible for running of the activities and events in its entirety delivering/coordinating activities focussed on improving living skills, social skills/inclusion, digital skills/inclusion and promoting employment, education and training. Providing a wide range of centralised and local activities and events for residents and to support them to move towards independent living.

    SALARY ETC:

    • 30k to 37k + excellent benefits package.
    • South East London
    • Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm and based in office.
    • Permanent, full-time.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Related qualification in health and social care sector, marketing, events management, training, or education.
    • Experience in delivering/coordinating activities focussed on improving living skills, social skills/inclusion, digital skills/inclusion and promoting employment, education and training
    • Experience working with vulnerable client groups, within a supported mental health environment.
    • Experience in planning, delivery, facilitating and coordinating a programme of varied programme of social, cultural, recreational, educational, physical, and spiritual activities.
    • Basic financial skills to manage budgets.
    • Effectively working with other professionals involved in supporting a client.
    • Dealing sensitively and appropriately with residents.
    • Sourcing, negotiating, and managing vendors and suppliers.

    DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

    • Delivering/coordinating activities focussed on improving living skills, social skills/inclusion, digital skills/inclusion and promoting employment, education and training
    • Leading and organising industry-relevant events and activities to recognise Mental Health Awareness Week, Recovery Month and World Mental Health Day whilst adopting events management system.
    • To provide supplementary support to the Project Manager with special projects, such as VR Wellness, by acting as a link between departments.
    • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies and key community group resources such as education, training and employment providers, leisure, therapy, and other services to support the residents to access and engage with services.
    • Design, organise and deliver various workshops related to education, training and employment for clients which will focus more on training their skills, attitude and, in particular, their values and virtues.
    • To engage and collaborate with the Support Department, to deliver activities in support of residents.
    • Undertake various marketing, advertising, and promoting activities.
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders such as other supported housing providers to plan and organise ongoing annual events.
    • To represent the company positively at all public and external events.
    • As the department grows, to build and lead the Activities & Events team.
    • To assist in organising company in-house events such as Christmas parties, social and teambuilding events and other related events and activities.
    • To deliver and arrange various advice, advocacy and information sessions to clients in relation to physical health matters, education, training and employment, life skills and any other identified activity daily living skills.
    • To keep abreast of client individual circumstances, such as changes in health and wellbeing, birthdays, anniversaries and cultural and religious festivals and celebrations.
    • To create in advance the weekly/monthly/annual activities and events scheduling calendar.
