Role Profile and Person Specification
Job Title:
Midday Supervisory Assistant (MSA)
Responsible to:
Head teacher (Key Stage Leaders in their absence)
Overall Responsibility
Support the Head teacher / Senior Midday Supervisor, to ensure the safety and well-being of pupils and lunch time.
Duties
- Support the needs and wellbeing of children in classrooms and outside in order to ensure the safety of everyone.
- Ensure lunchtime is a positive experience for the children.
- Encourage good eating habits and assisting children where necessary.
- Maintaining a safe lunch environment, e.g. wiping up spillages to ensure a safe and ordered environment is maintained.
- Supervision of movement of children to and from classroom and toilets.
- Support positive play outside through the modelling of and supporting playtime games.
- Ensure relevant teachers are informed if a there is a reason to bring a child to their attention (illness, injury or other issues that might need to be communicated).
- Have a clear knowledge of the safeguarding procedures in school and be confident to follow these.
Health and Safety
- Be aware of the responsibility for personal Health, Safety and Welfare and that of others who may be affected by your actions or inactions.
- Co-operate with the employer on all issues to do with Health, Safety & Welfare.
Continuing Professional Development
- In conjunction with the line manager, take responsibility for personal professional development, keeping up
- Undertake any necessary professional development as identified in the School Improvement Plan taking full advantage of any relevant training and development available.

Person Specification
Experience & Qualification Some experience of working in a similar environment.

- Ability to communicate effectively with the teaching team

- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a school environment (training will be given).
- Shows personal commitments to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.

Part-time hours: 6.25 per week

£10.50 per hour
