What will this role achieve?

As SQSE Packaging Technologist, your aim is to provide compliance data on packaging against authorised and documented methods. Providing support for the improvement and maintenance of packaging quality standards.

What will be your key deliverables?

Based upon an agreed packaging surveillance sampling schedule:

  • Carry out compliance checks on printed packaging against specification, with a focus on print Brand.
  • Master spectral targets, based upon an agreed surveillance sampling schedule.
  • Capture and store trend data of spectral colour assessment in QA repository. Discuss and share.
- trends with Senior Artwork Technical Manager

  • Sample and visually assess printed packaging against target Epson proofs for visual differences and defects.
  • Sample and assess packaging against specified specification parameters in accordance with the
- sampling standards and retailer requirements.

  • Supports the site with coding /calendar maintenance and data updates. (e.g., MID)
  • Authority to hold and release noncompliant defective packaging material for use in production.
  • Reviews, makes recommendation, and supports implementation of appropriate changes and preventative.
  • Supports continuous improvement through identification of areas for improvement, involvement in projects.

Bring your experience

  • Genuine desire to physically engage daily with the Morrisons trading team. Good relationship building skills with customers & stakeholders
  • Understanding of category management and shopper principles, including a broad numerical & analytical background
  • Good understanding of the UK retail trade
  • Ability to turn complex data sets into actionable insights and communicate recommendations in a clear and positive manner
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, strong gravitas & credibility
  • Ability to manage several projects at once
  • Basic knowledge of space planning, insights tools and data sets spanning but not limited to JDA, Nielsen, Kantar etc
