Lead Ruby Developer

UK | Remote

Up to £85,000 DOE


A Lead Ruby Developer is required to join an established business that provides services and consultancy to thousands of educational institutions across the UK.

They provide a range of services, including data management and analysis, teacher training anddevelopment, and online learning platforms, aimed at supporting educational institutions in achieving their goals.


The Role


As a Lead Ruby Developer, you will be responsible for leading a team of up to 5 developers while also remaining actively involved in the development process.

You will ensure that all work is completed to the highest quality and within the discussed deadlines.


Work on a new project for the business, you will be working with complex data models in automated delivery environments and be familiar with Agile working practices.


Some of what you will be doing:

  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables to deadline
  • Create and review endtoend implementation and automated test assets
  • Lead design and planning sessions
  • Identify technical risks and create mitigation plans
  • Establish processes and standards for highquality products
  • Collaborate with various teams within the business
  • Implement data governance and information security policies
  • Building microservices and APIs

Ideally, your skills and experience will include:

  • Ruby on Rails
  • MYSQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL
  • Resque or Sidekig
  • RSpec
  • Git
  • Azure
