Workspace Change Manager - New Working Practices, Workspace Transformation


Our leading global law firm are looking to recruit a Workspace Change Manager (New Working Practices, Workspace Transformation) to be heavily involved in a 7 year multi-stream Programme of works to deliver the future workspace.


The Programme combines a set of strategic activities that look at the building & location selection process, future space requirements, interior design of the new workspace, future ways of working within the new space, and all supporting technologies, processesand people policies that underpin this.


A Change Manager is required to help the office leaders prepare people for the new workplace, engage people throughout the change, and support workstream leads to identify and mitigate any change impacts on programme delivery.

The Change Manager is responsiblefor developing and delivering the Change Strategy to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of the programme.


Who you will work with

  • You will work within the core programme team reporting to the Programme Manager and working closely with the Programme Support Office and Sub-Programme leads. You will be responsible for managing a change network and will need to work with and manage adiverse range of stakeholders across the business.
  • You will also engage with senior stakeholders and programme sponsors to gain support for the change strategy and ensure people risks and issues are mitigated
  • The role will require you to work closely with the communication lead and the internal communications team to understand wider communication challenges (outside the programme) as well as how communications are structured and delivered in the firm.

You will focus on the people side of change, and encourage adoption of new working practices, new systems and technology.


The primary responsibility will be implementing change management strategies, working with the communications lead to drive faster employee adoption and minimise resistance to the changes being introduced.


What you will do
Workspace Transformation Change Management

  • Design, develop and implement change management strategies and plans in support of the programme
  • Manage the execution of activities related to workspace transformation change management and end user readiness
  • Manage resolution of potential transformation obstacles
  • Perform/assess Stakeholder and change impact analysis identifying potential project impacts/risks
  • Complete overall change readiness assessment
  • Identify and anticipate challenges and/or resistance; develop risk mitigation plans to address
  • Lead initiatives to develop employees' understanding and acceptance of impacts on specific job roles, policies, technology impacts and business practice
  • Design, develop and implement benefit realisation plans in support of the programme

Desired Skills and Experience:


  • Solid experience in leading change within a workplace transformation programme, including workspace reduction and movement to activity based working.
  • Significant change management experience in professional services and across a range of other related industries.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management including senior leader
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, good listening skills with ability to effectively coach and mentor others; must be able to lead by influence
  • Exhibits effective team skills
  • Accreditation in executing change management strategies is preferred
  • Familiarity with project and programme management approaches, tools and methodologies.
