About the role
The role of a Generic Housing Officer in the council at Corby is a varied and interesting role.

Currently the Housing Officers are split into two main groups - some focusing on Income Management and the others on Tenancy Management.

This vacant role will initially form part of the Income Management Team.

Hours of Work:
Mon 9-5pm Tues 9-5pm Weds 9-4pm

Salary Range £30,000- £32,000 Pro Rata

What will you be doing?

The purpose of the Housing Officer role at Corby is to offer all tenants in need, support and assistance to sustain their tenancy.

To do this you will be carrying out effective methods of recovery of rent arrears in line with the Councils Policies and Procedures, including taking payments, contacting customers, agreeing and negotiating affordable repayment plans, interviewing customers, preparing court paperwork, attending court hearings, monitoring compliance with court orders and undertaking evictions.


You will complete financial statements to analyse income and expenditure and offer budgeting and basic debt advice to our customers, referring complex cases to specialist independent agencies.

Where appropriate you will assist them to find solutions for other debts by supporting them to speak to creditors to negotiate affordable repayment plans.
