This prestigious Body offers a truly engaging range of events, campaigns and engagement activity to enable and support delivery of their strategy, helping them to inspire the public, influence policy makers and business leaders, and empower engineers to improve lives and tackle global challenges.

This is a brand new role that will be crucial in developing a cohesive, engaging and inspiring annual programme that truly meets their stakeholders' needs, enhances their impact and continues highlighting the important role of engineering in society.

By identifying and developing event topics, speakers and marketing content this role will be central to their continued efforts to create high-quality events that broaden their reach and increase engagement.


_Specifically this role will see you:
_


  • Research and develop topics for events that will be engaging for their target audiences eg the engineering community, policy makers, business leaders, or the wider public.
  • Collaborate with and draw on the expertise of a number of internal teams as well as their Fellows to identify relevant topics that will make the event programme stand out, and to align these topics with the Academy's strategy and programme activities.
  • Research themes and relevant speakers including industry leaders, policy makers and academics of interest to our audiences. Build and maintain a speaker bank with input from colleagues around the Academy.
  • Look after endtoend speaker management, scheduling rehearsal time, delivering verbal briefings at events and preparing comprehensive event briefing packs and scripts for the President, CEO, VIPs and speakers.
  • Project manage allocated flagship and thought leadership events from a content perspective, arranging project meetings to keep internal and external stakeholders fully informed.
  • Be responsible for marketing flagship events to specified target audiences, including suggesting and evaluating new ways of engaging wider audiences.
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders to align key messages and agree communication channels.
  • Monitor the external environment, key dates and competitor activity, and use these insights to inform recommendations for event topics, speakers and content that will stand out and engage our audiences.

You:


You'll have previous experience as a Conference Producer, either from a similar not for profit or commercial environment, skilled at working collaboratively to research and develop conference themes and topics, and research and build relationships with a wide range of speakers.

An interest in technology, engineering, innovation would be highly desirable, but most importantly you'll have great production skills and excited to take them to such a stimulating envinroment.

  • Evidence of successful and substantive working experience in conference production
  • Experience in creating new events and speaker management
  • Demonstrable experience in defining the direction of event conference themes and content
  • An adept researcher, able to understand the key issues affecting the industry
  • A creative thinker, who can develop event concepts and engaging conference programmes
  • Substantial stakeholder management skills with experience of liaising with senior figures and business leaders
  • Ability to communicate complex, specialist information is a clear and engaging way
  • Event marketing including social media.
  • Calm confident, articulate and professional approach to work
  • An interest in engineering and technology desirable
  • Keen to grow expertise and experience
