    Are you an energetic Post 16 Class Teacher (SEND) with extensive experience of working with a range of young people with complex needs in an education setting, and a passion for inclusion, enabling all children to overcome barriers to learning?

    We are looking for a proactive, resourceful, and inspirational Post 16 Class Teacher (SEND) to plan and deliver an outstanding and effective bespoke curriculum to support pupils following different pathways, in collaboration with our specialist teachers covering Art, Design/DT, PE, Maths and English.

    As a Post 16 Class Teacher you will have the enthusiasm to strengthen work based, community and social links, and to promote opportunities and experiences for your young people.

    You should be self-motivated with a creative approach to curriculum delivery and have the skills to continuously improve the learning experience for our pupils.

    You should have experience of working with young people with complex needs and understand what approaches work well and how building positive relationships are key.

    Over the last 18 months the school has been through positive changes and developments, with a new Headteacher, a strengthened Senior Leadership Team, and a revised business strategy to support significant growth.

    The position of Post 16 Class Teacher (SEND) has been created to support the growth of the school and the needs of our pupils, it is a great opportunity to be part of a team proving the very best possible educational opportunities for our pupils within a nurturing and supportive setting.

    Our school

    Coombe House School is an independent special school that provides education for pupils aged 5 to 19 with SEMH, ASC and associated complex difficulties.

    All pupils on roll have an EHCP and the school uses a therapeutic approach to support pupils with their individual difficulties.

    Everything the school does is based on positive relationships and viewing behaviour as communication.

    As a Post 16 Class Teacher , you will work in an immensely rewarding, although often challenging environment, contributing to supporting the development of social, life and independence skills and truly making a difference in the lives of pupils.

    To truly meet their needs, and set them up for successful adult lives, we think beyond conventional education and meet their broader holistic potential and help to influence the society that they are part of to be more connected, inclusive, and compassionate.

    All staff at Coombe House School demonstrate compassion, understanding and flexibility in their approach ensuring progression is central to all lessons whilst giving our pupils the confidence to grow as they progress.

    Coombe House School is located at the eastern edge of Shaftesbury, approximately 2.3 miles from the town centre. The school is accessed via a private road and enjoys a secluded setting within its grounds.
    The accommodation extends to over 160,000sqft, set within in grounds of 55 acres.
