    We are seeking an enthusiasticSenior to Principal Ecologist to join our busy ecology departmentsacross our Practice.

Over the last 60 years the practicehas developed a valuable mix of multidisciplinary expertise inmasterplanning environmental assessment urban design landscapeecology architecture arboriculture and green infrastructure.Working together we have implemented many awardwinning schemes inenvironmentally sensitive locations.

    Our ecology team isled by four directors who each joined the company in juniorpositions and are committed to providing the same supportive andfostering environment that is at the heart of ourpractice.
    Our team of over 120 ecologists work out of fiveoffices across the UK.

    Could you be one of theexperienced talented and energetic professionals helping tocontinue the development of the team responding to our clients andkeeping FPCR moving forwards whilst responding to new challenges inecological practice The positions provide the right candidates withan ideal opportunity to be a part of a motivated team offeringtechnical advice to a diverse range of clients covering projectsacross all aspects of ecology.

    Aboutyou

    • Degree level orequivalent academic qualification in Ecology or related field;
    • Full Membership of Chartered Institute ofEcology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or other similar;
    • A minimum of 3years project managementexperience with excellent client liaison skills.
    • Good knowledge of best practice surveytechniques relevant wildlife legislation and protected specieslicensing;
    • An advanced knowledge of ecologyand wildlife protection in the context of the UK planning system;
    • Experience of advising clients on BiodiversityNet Gain including production of Biodiversity Impact Assessments(BIA) and use of the DEFRA metric;
    • Demonstrable experience in complex reportwriting inclusive but not limited to Preliminary EcologicalAppraisal (PEA) reports Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) documents Species and HabitatManagement Plans;
    • A level of competency inMicrosoft Office software and preferably (although not essential)some knowledge of GIS packages.
    • Excellentcommunication skills; and
    • A full clean UKdriving licence and access to vehicle.

    Salary:32k dependent on experience
