Required for September 2024, Ravensthorpe CE (VC) Junior School is seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic individual to teach pupils with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs.

This is a new role in school due to the increase in numbers of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and would therefore be suitable for teachers with experience of and vision for the role.

We are a four-form entry school situated in an ethnically and religiously diverse community. We are very proud of the progress that all of our pupils make during their time with us which is evidenced in our excellent SATs results over recent years. In our recent Ofsted inspection (February 2023), we were graded Good: 'Pupils are safe and happy at this friendly, welcoming school. Their conduct is exemplary in lessons and around school.'

Ours is a highly inclusive church school and spirituality underpins our values and culture. We are committed to providing a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum for each child which will enable them to reach their full potential. All of our pupils work towards our Christian vision: as we explore, experience and discover, we grow together in 'life in all its fullness'.

The successful candidate will have a passion for Special Educational Needs, high standards, a dedication to providing the best for each pupil and an understanding of the challenges which will come from driving our new role: this is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is innovative and would like to work with us to build a new strand of our SEND provision. We are a vibrant and happy community committed to nurturing and developing each child and member of staff to achieve their best.

Applications are welcome from all levels of experience. We are dedicated to providing appropriate CPD to ensure successful outcomes for all. This is a fixed-term post; however, it may extend beyond this date (dependent on budget).

    We can offer:

  • very happy, supportive staff and leadership teams who work well together to achieve good outcomes for all
  • a bespoke Professional Development package to support your own development
  • a Church school at the heart of our diverse community
