Description

EAP Tutor (Academic Support), London Greenwich campus

1 year Fixed Term; Full-time

CU Group delivers International Pathway programmes on behalf of Coventry University, and is seeking an experienced English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Tutor to support both excellent delivery of the CU Group International Pathway programmes and a positive experience for all students on these courses.

CU Group is part of the wider Coventry University group and delivers academic and vocational degree programmes nationally and internationally on behalf of the University.

It is a stimulating, diverse and enthusiastic organisation committed to delivering the very best experience for students and staff alike.

This post will be attached to CU Group's London Greenwich campus (5 minutes' walk from North Greenwich station).

Overview of role

The International Pathway Programmes prepare international students for university entry, and include the International Foundation Year, International Year One, and International Pre-Masters programmes.

Successful completion of these programmes allows students to join their destination degree programme at undergraduate or postgraduate level in Coventry, London, in another of the group's locations, or online.

These programmes are delivered alongside our already established BALEAP accredited Pre-sessional English programmes.

The EAP Tutor (Academic Support) will provide a first line of contact and ongoing advice to students on the International Pathway Programmes based on our Greenwich campus to help them settle into life in the UK and integrate into the University.

This will mean liaising with other University services as necessary to support students whilst maintaining confidentiality. They will liaise with the Course Leaders and/or Associate Directors to provide any necessary academic support for identified students.

They will also organise social events and activities for students on the Pathway programmes to enhance their experience on CU Group courses.

From time-to-time, the Academic Support Tutors will also contribute to teaching, learning and assessment on EAP programmes, and to the academic administration of any courses or blocks they teach on or in relation to exam marking or student support activities.

These programmes may be delivered face-to-face on CU Group campuses, in other locations, online or in a blended mode. A full induction, course syllabus and essential materials is provided, along with guidance from a Course Leader.
