    ROLE PROFILE:

    Work in ICP/IDNO (Independent Connection Provider/Independent Distribution Network Operators) design and join an ICP who have full UK coverage. Manage the design of secondary substation as well as be involved with and work across other new and ongoing projects.

    • Assist electrical and civil engineers in concept design solutions and generating all associated civil drawings, detailing for site layouts, building structures, plans & elevations as required as well as assisting in the design of Single Line Diagrams, Interlocking Diagram and Multicore Diagrams.
    • Prepare, manage and design detailed drawings using Autodesk software's such as Revit, AutoCAD & Civil 3D for site layouts, foundation design, transformer bunds, base slabs, access road, earthwork designs, control room layouts, reinforced concrete, masonry wall and timber construction to its appropriate BS codes.
    • Throughout the stages of design, prepare and assist the construction team with completion of As-Built drawings, assist the sales team by completing tendering concept design drawings and 3D rendering presentations, assist with preparation of concept civil design solutions, liaise with structural / electrical engineers, design coordinators, clients and sub-contractors on all drawing matters.
    • Occasional site visits would be required to produce site reports, drawing mark ups and interface with the project managers to ensure all work carried out on site is up to date, running well according to plan and meeting deadlines.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Initial and ongoing liaison with the Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer to establish the design parameters.
    • Liaising with the Engineers to obtain relevant drawing for detailed design.
    • Assist Engineers with design work using design tools such as AutoCAD
    • Maintaining all design records including calculations and any assumptions made.
    • Completing IDNO design for Engineer to review / submit to UKPN, SSE & WPD
    • Completing designs for submission to various DNOs including UKPN, SSE & WPD
    • General arrangements and wiring diagrams.
    • Produce a range of 2D and 3D visualizations for electrical rail layouts projects.
    • Create & deliver the information required to make clients aware of their responsibilities.
    • And any other duties required which fall within the role.

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    ESSENTIAL:

    • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports
    • Communicate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
    • Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
    • Ability to challenge information presented
    • Relevant Electrical Industry Experience
    • Must have relevant experience in the UK market with a DNO, IDNO, ICP on the UKPN and SSEN network.
    • Must have excellent IT skills and experience
    • Design experience – Underground Cables - and experience designing underground infrastructure.
    • Design experience – Secondary substation - and experience designing secondar substation infrastructure

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • OND / HND in Engineering discipline or equivalent

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    The role may require you to travel to sites across the UK with occasional overnight stays, as and when required.

    Due to the nature of our works, there may be a requirement to cover out of hours works i.e., weekends and on some occasion's nights. Within reason, you must be willing to cover out of hours works, where necessary.
