Role

  • Leadership of the Sport Rehabilitation and Injury Clinic (SIRC);
  • Effective implementation and oversight of all health and safety and duty of care requirements;
  • Management of the clinic environment and student-clinicians ensuring high-quality service provision;
  • Delivering clinical services, taking payments, and maintaining effective records;
  • Adoption of a professional approach to practice.
This is a temporary, hourly paid, post fulfilling supervisor requirements for UON's Sport Injury and Rehabilitation Clinic. The working hours will be 10.30am - 7.30pm on Wednesdays.

The contract is fixed term for 6 months or running until end of July 2023 whichever is sooner based on recruitment start date.


Duties and responsibilities
Be responsible for clinic preparation, opening, and essential service provision key to day-to-day operation of the SIRC.
Deliver effective student support and supervision of student-clinicians to enhance the student experience.
To maintain safe and clean environment with the SIRC to ensure professional standards.
Liaise with the SIRC academic lead to manage resource, procurement, and marketing activity.
Maintain professional body (BASRAT) standards in practice and role delineation of the sport rehabilitator.
Be responsible for record keeping, timely communication with key stakeholders and ethical practice.
Be familiar with and able to effectively operate patient management software.
Take an active role in promoting the SIRC and related services to external stakeholders.

Completion of relevant mandatory training during the initial three months of employment and at the appropriate refresh points as specified by Staff Development.

All post holders are expected to work flexibly, and to undertake any responsibilities and tasks reasonably requested by the Head of Subject.


Skills and experience
You will have successfully completed an Undergraduate degree in Sport Rehabilitation, Sport Therapy, or Physiotherapy. Applicants will have specialist knowledge of injury assessment, injury treatment, manual therapy, and exercise rehabilitation. Prior experienceworking with a diverse client base and high levels of customer service is essential.
You will have good written and verbal communication, well developed time management and excellent organisation skills. Good IT skills, including competence in standard Microsoft 365 software packages, is required.
