    Job Summary:

    As a Production Manager in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) company based in Ballymena, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production and delivery of products. You will be accountable for managing the production team, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets while maintaining high quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Manage and lead the production team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

    2. Plan, organize, and schedule production activities to meet customer demand and deadlines.

    3. Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

    4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.

    5. Develop and implement production plans and budgets, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and safety requirements.

    6. Maintain and update production records, reports, and documentation.

    7. Evaluate and select vendors and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure timely availability of raw materials and equipment.

    8. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to manufacturing and implement best practices.

    9. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork among the production team.

    10. Identify and resolve production-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

    2. Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role within the FMCG industry.

    3. Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.

    4. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse production team.

    5. Proficient in using production management software and tools.

    6. Demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements.

    7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    8. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize and meet production targets.

    9. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

    10. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing production demands.
